House I: Plateau – Valle Escondido

STUDIO SOLDIVIERO X AGS ARCHITECTURE
The first in a series of hillside homes designed by Studio Soldiviero and AGS Architecture, this residence is located on the most level portion of the site. Its low, elongated form responds directly to the flat terrain, allowing the structure to sit naturally within its surroundings. The overall massing emphasizes horizontality and simplicity, setting the tone for the two other homes that follow on steeper lots.
The floor plan is organized across a single level, with public and private zones laid out along a clear linear axis. Shared living spaces are centrally located, with access to exterior terraces and a pool that extend the use of the site outdoors. Circulation is straightforward and efficient, supporting both everyday use and guest accommodation.
A restrained material palette—plaster, concrete, and wood—is complemented by regionally relevant elements such as breezeblocks, which provide filtered light, ventilation, and privacy. A central raised volume introduces daylight into the interior and adds a quiet moment of vertical relief to the otherwise horizontal structure.
Designed to meet both environmental conditions and client goals, House I establishes a baseline approach for the development: site-specific, climate-responsive homes that engage the landscape through practical, durable design.
